Springtime rehearsal demo recording by Scott, in which Scott records and drums awesomely while I crack jokes and resist turning my bass down
Birthday song for Carolyn by Ben, Mike and I. This is the decade of autotune and confused laughter.
Timelines and Guidelines
I always freak out and want to clear the vault at the end of the year. I usually just end up chopping the tips off of my biggest icebergs. Tips.
Timelines and Guidelines was written and recorded over the summer in under an hour. It’s a pretty good one, and maybe a personal best in terms of efficiency (all other things aside).
Mrs. Fowler
Demo from October. I wrote this in the afternoon because I thought the song I wrote in the morning was a little too dour. Ultimately, this ended up being a little too saccharine (but apparently not too saccharine to upload to the Internet).
This clip was written and recorded in 10 minutes very early on the morning of May 30, 2011. I had intended to test the fidelity of the built-in mic on my new (shitty) headphones (which I’ve since broken) for quick and dirty recordings. A couple of months later I think I still stand behind this message. I think.
Christmas Day Blues
Spring Reverb, Cassette Tapes, Tube Preamps, Sloppy Drums, Traditional Songwriting. Depressing, Contrarian Message. Most things I work on are at least kind of like this in some way.
Christmas Time
The first of my two bizarre, depressing, lo-fi Christmas songs. This is a few years old now and I find that it has only gotten weirder. Listen for shades of it in tomorrow’s “Christmas Day Blues” if you’re into that sort of thing.
Ben (Don’t Shit on my Farts)
Here it is, Internet.
Made as a gift for Ben Sousa’s 24th Birthday.
I wanted to try to put everything bad or contrived I’ve ever learned about pop music into one convenient place. Special thanks to R. Kelly and Boyz II Men.
If this ruins my credibility forever… I think it’s best that it happens now before I’ve even actually done anything (and therefore, gained any credibility).

The Fourth of July (Give Me Nothing Else to Waste)
This is a demo of a song on a record I am working on… It takes me a long time to work on things, and I realized this morning, if I don’t share it now, when will I?
Five years later, do I understand this any better?
